Madison Junior Civitan Club

Applications for the 2024-2025 School Year:

Applications for next year will be accepted starting on April 15, 2024 until April 20, 2024.  Late applications WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Applications are NOT on a first come, first serve basis and will be scored by a third party. They will be based on the following structure and requirements. Current Civinettes do not need to reapply.

To qualify:

1. Applicant must be a resident of Madison County or attend school in Madison County (required). 

2. Applicant must be a Full Time High School Student (Sophomore, Junior, Senior) for the 2024-2025 School Year. (required).

 

APPLICATION PACKET: Place all the contents below in ONE LARGE envelope prior to mailing. Write your name, school and grade for the 2024-25 year on the front of the envelope.

DEADLINES:  Applications will be accepted starting April 15th and MUST BE postmarked or dropped off by the deadline of April 20, 2024 to be considered. There will be an application box for drop off starting April 15th and drop off location will be announced on our Instagram (@madisoncivinettes) and Facebook page (Madison Junior Civitan Club) prior to that date. Be sure to go follow! Late applications WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Once submitted, all applications will be scored by a third party. 2024-25 class will be accepting approximately 50-60 new members.

 

The new 2024-25 class will be posted before April 30th at www.madisonciv.com

What is Madison Junior Civitan Club?

The Madison Junior Civitan Club or Civinettes, is an all female high school service organization. The purpose of this club is to encourage young people to value and advance good citizenship through service to the community, to develop initiative and leadership, to encourage young people to live a fuller life enriched by unselfish service to others, and to make connections within the community through social events. Civinettes work with local charitable organizations, complete service requirements and enjoy socials/parties throughout the year. 

Time commitment and expectations:

As a Madison Junior Civitan Club Member you will be expected to do the following (subject to change):

1. Financial Dues—$165 Annual Dues. $165 due with acceptance letter and signed forms. Dues include tickets to two Civinette parties throughout the year - August Party and Claus Ball in December. It also includes a Civinette T-Shirt, Civinette Sweatshirt & Annual Dues to Civitan International, local Club Dues.

2. Complete minimum of 20 Civinette hours August 1 to February 1 through club opportunities.

3. Obligated to attend 2 meetings throughout the year that are typically held on Sunday's at 3 p.m. 

4. Sell five $10 raffle tickets in October as a club member.

5. Abide by Club Bylaws

 

Up to Three (3) scholarships will be granted for members who would like to apply, but need financial assistance for the annual dues. If you are applying for a scholarship, please email a copy of your certificate for ‘Free and Reduced Lunch’ to laurenfairburn@yahoo.com.
